Return Policy 

We stand behind every part we sell. When your project requires a change of plans, we want to make the return process as straightforward as possible, while maintaining the quality and integrity of our  specialized inventory that pros and DIYers alike depend on. 

Please read this policy in full before initiating a return. It covers everything you need to know to get  the process right the first time. 

Return Window 

Returns are accepted within 14 days from the date of delivery. We recommend inspecting your order as soon as it arrives to confirm it matches your project specifications. Requests submitted after 14  days from the delivery date will not be accepted. 

Return Eligibility 

  • To qualify for a return, all of the following conditions must be met: 
  • Item is unused and uninstalled 
  • Item is in its original, undamaged packaging 
  • Original receipt or proof of purchase is included 
  • Return has been pre-authorized by our support team (see below) 

Items that are returned without prior authorization will be refused and returned to sender at the  customer's expense. 

Non-Returnable Items 

The following items are not eligible for return under any circumstances: 

  • Special-order or custom-configured parts 
  • Electrical components that have been installed or powered 
  • Items showing signs of use, installation, or modification 
  • Items returned without a valid Return Authorization (RA) number 
  • Orders outside the 14-day return window 

Compatibility — Please Verify Before You Order

MakeMyYard carries professional-grade components from Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro and other  industry-leading brands. Many of these parts are application-specific and may not be  interchangeable across systems, pipe sizes, or pressure ratings. 

Before placing your order, please confirm: 

  • Part number, model, and specifications against your existing system 
  • Pipe size, thread type, and connection compatibility 
  • Pressure rating and flow requirements for your application 

If you have any doubt, contact us before purchasing. We'd much rather help you get the right part  the first time than process a return. Compatibility issues are not grounds for return fee waivers. 

Restocking Fee 

Because our inventory consists of precision-grade irrigation, backflow prevention, and plumbing  components, every return requires inspection, cleaning, and repackaging before an item can re enter stock. Accordingly, a restocking fee will be deducted from all approved refunds. 

The restocking fee covers the labor and handling costs involved in maintaining the inventory  standards our customers expect. The applicable fee will be communicated when your return is  authorized. 

Return Shipping 

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. When placing your order, you have the  option to add return shipping coverage directly from our checkout page. We recommend taking  advantage of this, it covers your shipment in the event of loss or damage in transit, ensures your  return is protected, and saves you from having to deal with carrier claims if something goes wrong  along the way. 

How to Initiate a Return 

Step 1 — Contact Us 

Reach out to our support team within 14 days of receiving your order to request a Return  Authorization (RA) number. Have your order number and the reason for return ready. 

Step 2 — Receive Your RA Number 

Once your return is reviewed and approved, we will issue an RA number along with return shipping  instructions. Do not ship items without an RA number, unauthorized shipments will be refused. 

Step 3 — Ship the Item 

Pack the item securely in its original packaging, include your proof of purchase, and clearly mark the RA number on the outside of the package. Ship to the address provided in your authorization. 

Step 4 — Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect the return, we will notify you of the outcome within 2 business days. If  approved, your refund (minus the applicable restocking fee) will be issued to your original payment  method within 10 business days. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the  credit. 

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items 

We perform quality checks on every order before it ships. In the event you receive a damaged,  defective, or incorrect item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Include photos of the item  and packaging so we can resolve the issue promptly, at no cost to you. 

Special Orders — Non-Cancelable & Non-Returnable 

Certain products available on our website are shipped directly from the manufacturer and fall under  our Special Orders category. These are items that are sourced, configured, or fulfilled on a per-order basis. If a product falls under this category, it will be clearly noted in the product description on its  listing page. 

Because these orders are placed and processed directly with the manufacturer on your behalf, they  cannot be canceled once submitted and are not eligible for return under any circumstances. Please  review all product details carefully before placing a special order.
