Description

The CG-51 sits flush in the grade and pushes light sideways across a surface rather than up into the eye, which is what makes it work on walkways, hardscape and low walls where a normal well light would glare at anyone walking past. The 180 degree faceplate throws in one direction only, and because FX left the center brace out of the open design, the wash comes out clean with no shadow line running through it. The faceplate threads on and swaps, so the same fixture becomes a 360 degree ground wash later if the layout changes. Premium select brass, IP66/67 rated, with no screws showing on top. It sets into standard 2½ inch Schedule 40 conduit. Note on the lumen figure: a ground wash reads low on paper because almost none of its output goes upward, and that contained, glare free spread is exactly the point of the fixture. A low voltage transformer is required and sold separately.
